Benign vascular lesions are overgrown enlarged blood vessels or multiple small vessels. Treatment of vascular lesions are based on a process called “selective photothermolysis” whereby the vessel supplying the lesion with blood is targeted and coagulated.

The IPL omits a very low and ultra safe wave of light which generates heat that is drawn vascular lesion. The heat then raises the temperature inside the lesion, thereby damaging it. The body's natural healing process works to absorb it. Then by initiating a natural wound healing process causes the rebuilding of new collagen under the outer layer of the skin helping the vein to appear less apparent.
